Public interest advocacy Care2 appealed to the FCC when it learned that Marriot International was preventing guests from using their own personal wi-fi connections when staying at its hotels.
According to the organization, Marriot had already paid a settlement price of $600K on similar charges but was continuing to battle FCC rules on the practice.
