Sinclair Television is required to turn in the license for a Charleston SC TV station in a matter of weeks as a condition of its Allbritton acquisition. It has a buyer for the station, if it can get the deal approved before it meets its untimely demise.
Here’s the deal: Sinclair proposes to sell a very limited set of assets associated with WCIV-TV Channel 34 to Armstrong Williams’ Howard Stirk Holdings. Williams would get key FCC licenses, certain equipment items, a tower lease, and the public file and such.
