Evanov moves to WideOrbit

Evanov Radio Group recently switched its traffic and revenue management systems to WideOrbit. Evanov is an independent broadcaster in the Ottawa, Ontario and Halifax, Nova Scotia markets and in the Toronto metro area. They’ll  soon be adding another two stations in Winnipeg that will use WO Traffic—to bring the number to 13  stations since it switched from its legacy system, Marketron.

Evanov joins more than 700 radio stations around the globe that use WideOrbit traffic software.

Mike Zinsmeister, WO VP of Sales, tells RBR-TVBR about the specifics Evanov needed and how WO Traffic solved them: “Evanov Radio Group came to us with two major challenges: they needed to grow their business while cutting costs, and they needed to replace a legacy traffic system that had fallen behind with a system that could scale to meet their growing needs. WO Traffic allows Evanov to add more stations without adding resources, because it’s a more efficient, scalable and cost effective system. WO Traffic’s advanced reporting delivers real metrics across all of Evanov’s stations and easily surfaces critical information so that senior management can make more informed decisions and drive more revenue. And our development and support teams are committed to helping Evanov realize even greater efficiencies and profits.”

Said Michael Kilbride, CFO at Evanov Radio Group: “We needed to find a traffic vendor that could deliver on their promises, utilize the latest technology and scale to meet our growing needs. In the current environment, cost control is critical. We need to be able to cut down on labor costs while growing our business. We’re able to add new stations and take on greater volumes of work without adding new systems or staff. It’s incredibly valuable to be able to look at relevant metrics on a real time basis to assess how our business is performing. In addition, we’ve experienced excellent support from WideOrbit’s customer service.”

WO Traffic’s scalable architecture allows broadcasters to manage multiple stations, channels and platforms, as well as multiple media—including television, radio, cable networks, cable interconnects, web, mobile video and digital out-of-home networks—from a single system and database. WO Traffic delivers advanced, flexible reporting that provides extraordinary visibility and control at all levels of a broadcast business.
