The latest jobs report from the US Labor Department showed a slowdown in hiring and the national unemployment rate moved up a tenth of a percentage point to 9.1%. That bad news cast a dark cloud over Wall Street on Friday.
At midday the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.6%, with similar declines for other major indices. Precious few broadcasting stocks are trading higher.
