Univision Radio Los Angeles Vice President and general Manager Jose Valle has gotten the nod to head all of Univision Radio as President. The post has been vacant since Gary Stone retired at the end of 2010.

Valle’s appointment, effective immediately, was announced by Peter Walker, President of Univision Local Media.

“Jose is one of the most accomplished and experienced broadcast executives that I have had the pleasure to work with in this industry who has a passion for Hispanic media.  We were most pleased to have him join Univision last year and are excited to have him oversee the operations of our entire radio division,” said Walker. “The reach, influence and impact of our radio platforms across the country further positions Univision’s unparalleled leadership in reaching Hispanic America.”

Most recently, as VP/GM in LA Valle oversaw KLVE-FM, KSCA-FM, KTNQ-AM, KRCD/KRCV-FM.  He previously served as president and general manager of Telemundo’s flagship station KVEA-TV as well as overseeing operations for Spanish-language independent KWHY-TV Los Angeles (2008-2010).  Before that position, Valle was VP-GM of KXTX-TV Dallas (2002-2008) where he played a key role in the consolidation and integration of operations with the NBC owned and operated station, KXAS. Earlier in his career, Valle served as vice president and general manager of various radio stations, including Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation’s (HBC) Las Vegas three-station cluster; Dallas-Fort Worth’s seven-station, four-format cluster; and was involved with the acquisition and flip of KLNO, which was the winner of the Marconi Award for Station of the Year and HBC Station of the Year, both in 2001.
