Broadcast Interactive Media (BIM) has signed a multi-year contract extension with Granite Broadcasting. Under the new deal, BIM will continue to provide technology, content and revenue solutions for Granite websites, including GraniteTV.com. Local markets include: Binghamton, NY (WBNG), Buffalo, NY (WKBW), Detroit, MI (MyTV20), Duluth, MN (Northland’s NewsCenter), Fort Wayne, IN (Indiana’s NewsCenter), Fresno, CA (KSEE), Peoria, IL (Central Illinois’ NewsCenter) and San Francisco (KOFY).

Recently, the majority of Granite sites seamlessly relaunched, debuting a dynamic preview pane (“hover to explore, click to navigate”), 16×9 video, enhanced modules including Most Popular, Top Video and YouNews, plus strategically placed social media links such as incorporating station Facebook and Twitter feeds. To heighten awareness of the relaunch, WBNG in Binghamton created a video tutorial, showcasing the “brand new, bold and better WBNG.com.”

Granite CEO Peter Markham noted, “The BIM partnership enables Granite to continue to fulfill its commitment to viewers and advertisers by elevating our diverse station’s digital platforms. Now our management can efficiently work to better coordinate with the news and Web staff, providing flexibility plus a standard workflow for employees.”

Broadcast Interactive CEO Timur Yarnall adds, “It’s been a pleasure working with Granite for the past several years and we’re thrilled to extend our relationship. We look forward to expanding their interactive and digital presence in local markets across the U.S. The partnership will help drive their digital business and the newly enhanced websites are just the first in what we expect to be a series of collaborative projects, focused on user experience, engagement and revenue.”
