Three Ex-Bell Media Programming Pros Launch Consultancy

TORONTO — A full-service agency for creators and brands specialized in talent coaching, content strategy and development and brand partnerships has officially been launched and is ready to serve radio stations across the U.S. and Canada.


Introducing RMR Media Strategies, launched by radio industry veterans Rob Farina, Mike Bendixen, and Rob Basile.

Farina, a Managing Partner, said, “Our team brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the table, and we’re excited to deliver personalized solutions that meet the unique needs of each of our client partners.”

Farina in January 2021 exited iHeartMedia partner Bell Media as part of a corporate restructuring and served as Head of Content and Strategy for iHeartRadio Canada and syndication arm Orbyt Media. Before that, he was VP/Programming and Innovation for Rogers Sports & Media’s radio division. Farina is also known for roles as EVP/Content and Platforms for Astral and, before that, as VP/Programming for CHUM Radio. Both of those companies are no longer in existence thanks to consolidation.

Bendixen is also a former Bell Media executive, and served as a National Director of Programming focused on spoken word formats until November 2021. He also directed the on-air programming for CFRB-AM 1010 in Toronto, and from July 2005-September 2009 was Director of News and Programming for Astral, overseeing dominant Anglophone News/Talk CJAD-AM 800 in Montréal.

Basile in February 2022 moved on from Orbyt Media, following roles as the chief programmer and launch director for LGBTQ+-friendly CIRR “PROUD FM 103.9” in Toronto, and as Program Director of Rogers’ Adult Contemporary CHYM-FM in the Waterloo Region of Ontario due west of Ontario.
