VoteRadio and television stations set to cover this fall’s array of presidential debates and provide viewers a full slate of Election Day coverage may wish to consider the use of 4G and LTE wireless uplink equipment and services.

Accomplishing this can be tricky, as some stations may have challenges with live broadcasts over cellular 4G and LTE in high-density areas.

To assist with on-location coverage, live IP video transmissions company TVU Networks has developed a platform that includes equipment and accessories rental, datacards for local cellular 4G and LTE and use of the company’s scalable network for live video distribution.

The debates kick off in just a few weeks. Presidential debates are scheduled for September 26 at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York; October 9 at Washington University of St. Louis in St. Louis, MO; and October 19 at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.

The Vice Presidential debate will be on October 4 at Longwood University in Farmville, VA.

Election Day is November 8.

For stations partnering with TVU, the company’s Grid infrastructure may prove of interest, as it is an optional way of backhauling live, HD video footage to anywhere in the world. Dedicated WiFi/Microwave Mesh bandwidth will be available from strategic locations in and around the hosting venues.

Paul Shen, CEO of TVU Networks, said, “With the heavy investment of ad dollars during the election season, there’s a lot at stake. We understand the importance of a broadcaster getting it right and delivering the highest quality live video footage possible to its audience.”

TVU’s live video solutions were most recently for the Democratic and Republican National Conventions and the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

For radio or TV stations looking to keep a constant social media presence during the debates, TVU services include Facebook Live integration; TVU cellular transmitters are capable of live streaming to Facebook Live.
