Fox said on Twitter that an agreement was reached and Homer, Bart – The Simpsons will get renewed for a 24th and 25th season. This will make it the longest running animated television series in history.

Terms not disclosed but The Hollywood Reporter states sources “sharp cut in pay, of around 30% from the $440,000 for each of 22 episodes they had been making. That would be just over $300,000 per episode.”

Montgomery Burns, the voice of Mr. Burns vs. Rupert Murdoch over the Simpsons put out his comments on the issue, the statement that Shearer issued Friday.
RBR-TVBR observation: Hey dude, it is all about the money and the entertainment with history. Analysts estimate that value of The Simpsons just might be worth more dead than alive because News Corp could sell previous episodes to various outlets: Cable, Online channels besides local TV stations. So fans of Homer and family will be happy again and be on the air longer than Andy Rooney.
