A drop in new claims for unemployment benefits helped brighten the outlook on Wall Street. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 59 points, or 0.4%, to 13,253. Broadcasting stocks also advanced.
The RBR Radio Index was up 2.913, or 0.8%, to 363.251.
The TVBR Television Index was up 1.260, or 0.5%, to 262.974.
