NextGen Broadcast Conference Dates Confirmed

ATSC, the Broadcast Standards Association, has unveiled additional details about its upcoming annual NextGen Broadcast Conference and Member Meeting at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, D.C.


The program, scheduled for June 13-14 and open to all, will focus on new opportunities for broadcasting utilizing ATSC 3.0, the next-generation broadcast standard that is now available to viewers with devices capable of receiving NEXTGEN TV signals in 75 markets across the U.S., 80% of potential viewers in South Korea, and will soon be available to 66% of potential viewers in Jamaica.

“We look forward to robust conversations about the latest opportunities to apply flexible ATSC 3.0 broadcasts with local sports, interactive functions, automotive applications and more,” ATSC President Madeleine Noland commented.

For those curious as to where in the world ATSC 3.0 will be launching next, ATSC 3.0 is also being planned for the Caribbean island nation of Trinidad & Tobago, which plans to launch services next year. Additionally, “key ATSC 3.0 technologies selected for Brazil’s TV 3.0 initiative” also launching in 2025, while direct-to-mobile standards exploration is ongoing in India. Furthermore, testing is underway now in Mexico and Canada.

  • NEXTGEN TV Consumer Devices Update

ATSC Members can participate in all three days of events, including both the ATSC Annual Members Meeting and the vibrant two-day conference. program.

The capstone of the event is expected to be the presentation of the annual Bernard J. Lechner Outstanding Contributor Award and the Mark Richer Medal for industry leadership, the organization’s highest honors, on June 14.
