NAB EVP, CTO Matheny to keynote SBE Awards Dinner

Sam MathenySam Matheny, the new executive vice president and chief technology officer at the NAB, will be the keynote speaker at this year’s SBE National Awards Dinner on 10/8. At NAB, Matheny leads the technology team in its efforts to promote innovation in the industry and propel broadcast technology into the future.  He also provides overall leadership for NAB Labs activities, including oversight of NAB Labs’ TV and Radio Technology Committees.

The SBE National Awards Dinner is the highlight event of the 2014 50th Anniversary SBE National Meeting, which is being held in conjunction with the SBE Chapter 22 Broadcast & Technology Expo at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, N.Y. At the awards dinner, the SBE will recognize member James A. Dalke, CPBE, 8-VSB, AMD, CBNT of Seattle, Wash. with the Robert L. Flanders SBE Engineer of the Year Award and, member Norman P. Portillo, CBT,  of Baltimore, Md. with the James C. Wulliman Educator of the Year Award.  Charter Member, Gino Ricciardelli, CPBE of Binghamton, N.Y. will be named a SBE Fellow.

The Expo, which includes technical sessions for broadcast engineers and production professionals, is free to attend.
