Competition, not mergers: The road to sound Internet and cable policy

grimesLike vultures rushing to devour the last scraps of a road kill, the nation’s large and ravenous cable and Internet firms are hurrying to swallow the remaining savory merger targets.  Comcast acquired NBC Universal back in 2011, but now the pace is accelerating.  AT&T’s plan to acquire Direct TV was announced three months after Comcast disclosed its planned acquisition of Time Warner Cable.  Will Dish TV, Cox Communications, or Cablevision be the next to be swallowed by a large media firm?
