BMI statement to House Judiciary Subcommittee on Intellectual Property

BMI / Broadcast Music Inc.On 6/10, the U.S. House Judiciary Subcommittee on Intellectual Property will hold the first of two hearings on music licensing. The hearings come as the House Judiciary Committee conducts its comprehensive review of copyright laws. BMI CEO Michael O’Neill is testifying and will focus on changes intended to modernize BMI’s consent decree and allow BMI’s affiliated songwriters, composers and publishers to compete in the current competitive landscape.
