Benne bags a pair of Jewells

SoldThe stations were licensed to Jewell Broadcasting, anyway – they are KYOO AM and FM, licensed to Bolivar and Half Way, Missouri, respectively.

The seller is headed by Melvin Pulley.

The buyer is Benne Broadcasting of Bolivar LLC, headed by Dennis F. Benne.

The price is $375,000 cash. $235K is allocated to tangible person property, $85K to real property and $50K to the FCC license and goodwill.

A TBA began 11/1/14 and will remain in effect until closing. Benne will not pay any particular rent, but will pick up the tab for a number of operating expenses, including employee salaries, insurance, rent, utilities, telephone, contract engineering, pro-rated FCC fees and pro-rated real estate taxes.

KYOO-AM is a Class D on 1200 kHz with 1 kW-D, ND. It’s located to the northwest of Springfield MO.

KYOO-FM is a Class C3 on 99.1 MHz with 25 kW @ 328’. It’s located to the due north of Springfield MO.

Benne has five other Missouri radio stations. None of them overlap the KYOO combo.
