Taster-LogoThe new service is experimental, with one live event and a highlights package planned for each day. So it’s not a total replacement for television, but more than a one off.

Coverage is accessible through new BBC Sport 360 app for iOS, Android and Samsung’s Gear virtual reality headset. You can also see the material on BBC Taster, a new Website for projects in development, reports Engadget.

The live events will include beach volleyball, boxing, basketball and fencing.

Up to four different camera angles will be available during each event, so you can move around the court, ring or stadium to get a better look at what’s happening.
