Gray Media has created the new role of Senior Vice President for Transformation, and starting June 1 a woman will be tasked with taking the position in order to “accelerate” the broadcast media company’s “ongoing digital transformation of its content gathering, creation, workflow and distribution initiatives.”
Joanie Vasiliadis brings more than a decade of experience “driving growth across digital, streaming and broadcast platforms, with deep expertise in editorial strategy, product integration, audience development and organizational change,” Atlanta-headquartered Gray shared in an announcement. “She’s known for building high-performing teams, creating scalable workflows and pairing strong editorial judgment with data-driven decision-making.”
If Vasiliadis sounds familiar, it is because she served as VP of Content at TEGNA prior to its controversial merger with Nexstar Media Group. There, she spearheaded initiatives focused on newsroom modernization and platform growth and the launch of a national breaking news desk, audience team and streaming team.
Prior to joining the TEGNA executive leadership team, Vasiliadis served as Digital Director of flagship CBS affiliate WUSA-9 in Washington, D.C.
