Terry Suggs Secures A Tidewater AM

If you’ve ever traveled on the outer loop of the Hampton Roads Beltway, the intersection of I-64 and I-664 is known for the presence of two broadcast towers.

One belongs to a Class C AM that simulcasts its sister FM all-News programming.

This will soon change, as the sale of the AM station has been consummated.

On March 24, an asset purchase agreement was finalized that will deliver to Terry Suggs’ TLCommunications of Suffolk, Va., WXTG-AM 1490 in Hampton, Va., along with all-important FM translator W270DA at 101.9 MHZ, a 175-watt facility audible over the city of Hampton and much of Norfolk.

It’s being sold by Tom Davis-led Davis Media LLC for $125,000.

A $7,500 cash deposit has been made to Davis Media by Suggs, the sole proprietor of TLCommunications.

There is no broker or finder associated with this transaction, which includes the 7.2 acre tower site and the Nautel 1kw transmitter.

Serving as Davis Media’s legal counsel in this transaction is Brad Deutsch of Foster Garvey.

The legal counsel representing Suggs is John C. Trent of Putbrese, Hunsacker & Trent, P.C.

Davis will continue to own WXTG-FM in Virginia Beach.
