Allen Media Group-owned free-streaming platform Local Now has added the first “alpine lifestyle and ski/snowboard culture content TV channel” to the lineup.
It’s the latest example of how “FAST” channels are quickly becoming the visual answer to the fast-growing podcasting industry.
Amsterdam-based SKI TV boasts a library of original and licensed programming to the Local Now platform. It is exclusive ad-supported content, with a focus on ski centers across Switzerland, France, Italy and Austria for the upcoming season.
There’s also exclusive highlights and commentary for the 2021-2022 World Ski Tour.
It’s the type of niched programming that has helped make podcasting lucrative to individuals and big audio media companies including Audacy and iHeartMedia.
Allen Media Group founder Byron Allen commented, “Local Now is on a mission to be the most localized news and entertainment free-streaming service, which is one of the many reasons we’re excited to announce our new partnership with SKI TV. With our new
partnership, Local Now is bringing the best free and exclusive streamable sports content that appeals to every winter sports enthusiast.”
Local Now boast 345 free-streaming channels. This includes a Local Now channel in
every DMA in the country, and additional local channels and content from major partners nationwide.
