After Gigi Sohn’s retraction and President Joe Biden’s nomination of Anna Gomez to the FCC, broadcasters have wondered how soon could we have a full FCC for the first time in this administration. With issues like ownership caps, Next Gen TV, and the Quadrennial Review, we may have our answer.

U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell, the Chair of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, has announced that a full committee nominations hearing will be held on Thursday, June 22, at 10a ET. The purpose of the hearing is to consider nominations for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

The nominees to be considered are Anna Gomez for Commissioner, as well as Brendan Carr and Geoffrey Starks for reappointment andĀ Fara Damelin for FCC Inspector General.

The hearing will take place in the Committee Hearing Room, Russell 253. For those unable to attend in person, the hearing will be livestreamed on the Committee’s website, Twitter, and Facebook, allowing the public to follow the proceedings remotely.
