Resurrection On The Way For Central Mo. FM

In March 2018, it was one of four FM radio stations divested as part of the company’s Chapter 11 reorganization petition, and placed in The Mainstay Station Trust, overseen by veteran media broker Elliot Evers. It eventually wound up back in Cumulus Media‘s hands, only to go silent under FCC Special Temporary Authority in March.

Now, this Mid-Missouri 6kw FM is poised for a rebirth, with a focus on Christian Contemporary Music.

KJMO-FM 97.5 in Linn, Mo., is being sold by Cumulus to K-LOVE Inc. for just $93,000.

A $4,650 escrow deposit is being held at broker Kalil & Co., serving as agent on behalf of Cumulus.

KJMO is licensed to serve Missouri’s state capital, Jefferson City. Before it was silenced, it aired a Classic Hits format, transitioning from a one-time affiliation with Scott Shannon’s True Oldies Channel when it was an ABC Radio Networks syndicated offering.

At the time the STA request was filed, Cumulus indicated that it would either sell KJMO or change the station’s format at a later date. There was no explanation as to why a shutdown of KJMO was desired. However, Cumulus Media has experienced significant financial challenges over the last several years, leading the company to shutter low-performing properties across a host of markets.
