Conservative talkers Jim Quinn and Rose Tennent (“The War Room with Quinn and Rose”) have ended their run at CCME’s Talker WPGB-FM Pittsburgh the end of last week. In a statement, a CCME spokesperson told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: “WPGB tried to reach new terms with Jim Quinn and Rose Tennent, but as that was unsuccessful, they will be moving on and we support and thank them for the contributions they have made to Clear Channel Media + Entertainment’s WPGB over the years.”
David Bloomquist, from CCME’s 50-kW WWVA-AM Wheeling, WV is now hosting mornings on WPGB from 6-10 a.m. A former sports and morning news anchor on West Virginia television, Bloomquist, known as “Bloomdaddy,” will stay on from WWVA, as well as WLTP-AM Parkersburg, WV.
However, affiliate, Robert Savage’s WYSL-A/FM Rochester NY wasn’t too happy about the Quinn & Rose move, and says it wasn’t given enough notice. From its website: (http://www.wysl1040.com/):
“It is with a heavy heart that WYSL advises Jim Quinn and Rose Tennent were abruptly fired by their flagship station, WPGB Pittsburgh, over the weekend of November 16/17. WYSL received e-mail notice of this termination literally ten minutes before their scheduled Monday morning broadcast. The result was a chaotic relay broadcast of a morning show from Clear Channel’s AM station in Wheeling, West Virginia. We’re sorry for the confused mishmash that resulted on our air. Although this situation is beyond our control, WYSL apologizes for the sudden cessation of this very popular morning show. Beginning with Tuesday, November 19, we will feature former US Education Secretary Bill Bennett’s program, “Morning In America,” from the Salem Radio Network, weekdays from 6 to 9am. Please join us in extending best wishes to our friends Jim and Rose and thanking them for a wonderful seven years of morning radio. Also please know that WYSL looks forward to hearing a return of Quinn and Rose to national radio as soon as legal and other circumstances permit. Thanks for the overwhelming response and for listening to WYSL – your reliably conservative radio voice.”
No word yet on where Quinn and Rose may be heading, but WYSL might be a good place to start.
Quinn is the best in the business. Would be a great addition to the Fox news lineup.

Talk about shock and dismay when my radio came on at 6 a.m., only to hear a strange broadcast with no explanation. I’ve endured my favorite morning host’s vacations, knowing he’d be back, but this was something close to addiction withdrawal. Hopefully, Quinn will be back on the air soon, somewhere, with plenty of publicity to let his listeners know.
Those people are CRAZY for doing that. They are the best there is in the business. Totally destroyed my mornings.More common sense from that show than any other. CCME sucks!!!!!!

Good luck trying to contact 104.7–they’re on auto pilot down there–they never answer the phone and apparently, from the frequent transmission gliches, they’re tuned out, just like the rest of us are going to be without Q&R.

Friday made famous the line “My name is Friday—I’m a cop,” (the latter part later changed to “I carry a badge”) said in the introductory narration of every Dragnet TV episode. Friday also made the line, “Just the facts, ma’am,” famous. What Friday actually said in an early episode is “All we want are the facts.” Pinko Steve can never be a cop like Friday. Steve needs more Q&R. Steve is probably one of those sick unit food card slackers that just can not digest the truth.

I’ve lived in Philadelphia, Baltimore/DC, and Allentown – struggling each place to find ways to listen to Quinn and Rose online before iheart came around. Now that I’m back in the Pittsburgh area again this happens?! Seriously WPGB is making a huge mistake. I’m done with them. I’ll find another way to get Rush, et al. Likely Quinn got too close to the truth that someone didn’t like. Can’t wait for them to return. There is no better radio host than Jim Quinn.

Nathan Daschle is the son of former Dem Senate leader Tom Daschle. Nathan was also Executive Director of the Democratic Governors Association.
I believe this and the recent removal of many of Clear Channels conservative programing from Sirius XM shows what direction they intend to take.
Quinn and Rose are better than any other conservative radio commentators out there. Hannity argues too much, Limbaugh *is* logical and usually right, but he’s an arrogant sob, so I can’t stand listening to him. Beck is alright, but he’s so emotional! Quinn and Rose just hit that sweet spot so perfectly. They are truly the best. They need to be on the air somewhere prominent.

It has nothing to do with the terms of their contract. The fact that they DO talk about the TRUTH on things like Benghazi is why they were let go. More freedoms taken away. Sorry, Susan, but you *DID* *NOT* hear Q & R on ‘DVE – *EVER*! They were on what’s now known as “Bob FM” (96.9). I spent 13 years in radio (1982-1995), myself and deeply respected Jim and Rose enough to listen to them every morning, despite working for a competitor (what is now WPGB-FM, but was WXRB-FM and owned by EnterCom, then). I even listened to Jim when he was paired with Banana Don Jefferson at B-94!
Sorry but you did not listen to them on what is now bob fm. Jim was on the “B” 94.7 when I was in high school first then came to conservative talk. You are right though that they were never on DVE.

I come here and find out that you guys dropped Q&R! Are you people CRAZY??? They and Limbaugh are the only reason that I listen to Clear Channel. You people have made a HUGE mistake.

So many of you have expressed my own sentiments. I’ve been listening since ’94. Jim was my daily dose of sanity, and in spite of the news, always made me smile or laugh. I learned more from them than my formal education taught me. Whereever you go be sure you are syndicated, so we can get you in PGH. My prayers are with you. Love you both dearly.
To bad about WPGB-FM’s poor business decision to fire Quinn and Rose. I know, as a loyal listener, this station is dead air to me. Their advertizers should be glad to hear that since I’m sure I’m not the only one. I see it as assualt on conservatism and it will come with an associated cost!
I will find everything that Clear Channel is involved with in my area and boycott it. Q & R were cancelled from my local affiliate and I stopped listening to that station and I won’t support any of it’s advertisers. I may be one person, but it’s still my money and I’ll spend it where I want to.

Then I sent clear channel an email voicing my displeasure about losing Quinn and Rose and requested an explanation from them. Seriously doubt I’ll ever get one though.
Interesting: Tom Daschle’s son, Nathan, is the paid-for spy. Remember who video recorded Mitt Romney’s “47% remark” in a private Republican fund raiser: Jimmy Carter’s grandson or grand nephew. These facts are carefully camouflaged just as is the national scope and accurate plotting of their strategy. We are sitting ducks for their treacherous attacks out of the Center for American Progress, a Soros op.
I think all of you who have listened to Q&R know that there was pressure being put on the talk show hosts to water down their delivery and comments. Q&R would Not compromise their convictions and the truth so the powers to be running Clear Channel kicked them off the station. Watch out-the progressives want to control the airwaves and will stop at nothing to control free speech especially conservative talk radio. I will not listen to Clear Channel any longer in the morning on my way to work.
I began listening to them back in 2004 and worked to not miss a day. I have subscribed to their website to catch programs, listened to Sirius and IHeart, getting up early each day to listen to them from the 6 to 9 am hour (even when on vacation when I had to get up in the middle of the night to hear them! They are just that good. Well Quinn, “liberalism always generates the exact opposite of its’ stated intent” doesn’t it? I cannot wait to see you and Rose flourish as God opens another door and I will keep checking your website daily! My mornings are not the same.

I’m a longtime Q & R listener. I’ve met Rose on several occasions; she’s a very nice lady, and very dedicated to conservative causes and values. Jim Quinn is one of the best talk radio commentators in the business, even better than Limbaugh, in my opinion.
Clear Channel has made a huge mistake. Their bottom line will show it.

I, like a great many others are drawn to Quinn and Rose in the Morning. I have followed them thru one channel ‘adjustment’ and I will follow them again. This is especially difficult since I’m in the greater Detroit area, and have been for these years. Thank goodness for the internet and recently “I Heart Radio”. I anxiously await their return.

You can still access 2+ years worth of Q&R on itunes. The news is history, but at least you can hear their voices. Then again, a lot of what they were talking about two years ago is still relevant – can you say illegal aliens? fairness doctrine? obama lies and lies and lies and lies and lies. then again, obama/illegal aliens – same thing.
I have been listening to Quinn since his days at Channel 97 and I remember following him over to WPGB from there. I can’t believe I have to follow Q&R to another station. WPGB was constantly tuned in my car but no longer. I will not listen them on my radio and I will not support their sponsors. Jim Quinn is a one of the last truth seekers. For over ten years he has given me some glimmer of hope that we could save this country if we all just got our poop in a group. I have been listening to Quinn & Rose every morning on my hour drivew to work since they started. I am done listening in the mornings to wpgb 104.7. Big mistake Clear Chanel.
Quinn is the absolute best commentator who imparts knowledge while entertaining his audience. He has always been at the top of his game, and with Rose, they are a dynamic duo. I, too, am suffering from withdrawal, and I pray that they are back on the airwaves soon.

I listened to Q&R every morning. I found them very entertaining and informative. I do not agree with everything they say, especially Rose’s social views (gays) and religiosity. I do however respect her strength in her convictions and her right to her beliefs. I do strongly support their belief in smaller and less intrusive government. They were on the forefront of Bengazi and predicted the disaster of obamacare. The current commentator is horrendous and I would rather listen to nails on a chalkboard. So disappointed. No need to listen to 104.7. Agree with using the liberal strategy of boycotting any new sponsors (can’t blame the ones who supported Q&R
A small part of me wonders if the conspiracy theories of Daschle’s son holding high office at clear channel or the FCC and the fairness doctrine have anything to do with the removal of Quinn and Rose. The bigger part of me is just saddened and angered that they are no longer on the air (anywhere). Savage replaced by “sports talk” for the evening commute, Q&R replaced by “bloomdaddy babble” for my morning drive. Clear channel just lost one listener for sure. Judging from their recent business decisions I do not fit the profile of their intended audience anyways. Looks like KDKA for traffic and weather and listening to truckers chatter on the CB radio will easily win out to WPGB as Bloomdaddy does not come anywhere close to being a “conservative alternative to Quinn and Rose.

I’ve thought along the same lines, Quinn had mentioned quite a few times that he and Rose were the “cash cows” for WPGB. Wouldn’t make sense for the local management to get rid of them, makes sense that it came from higher up.
After decades in the business, trust me.
EVERY talent thinks they’re the cash cow. Every single one. Especially in morning drive.
I thing it’s time those of us who have been: “just listening”, to get active and start carrying the load. We need no more convincing. We know who the snakes are. Leave 104.7 on your preset. You don’t have to listen, but you have to remember.

I have listened to Quinn since 1997, when he was on WRRK channel 97. Maybe they can rid of Bob FM and have a real radio station again. Until then, may I suggest everyone get Sirius XM and tune in to Mike Chuch, 6 am to 9 am, channel 125. I’ve always thought Clear Channel was a dud with rotten channels like WDVE, old guy radio that insults my intelligence.

Jim Quinn is WAY more talented than most national talk show hosts. I’ve learned a TON of stuff from him. He’s been in front of the national news outlets forever. His style is irreverent, edgy, humorous, and VERY informative. (Sorry for the all caps, but this is emotional for me as well as an intellectual response to a very dumb decision.)
Was it the mention of Clear Channel’s health care? The appeal to listeners to contact XM?
WPGB’s decision can’t be based on talent or ratings. Was it some middle manager’s personality problem or what?
I listened to the replacement host by accident before I learned that he wasn’t just a fill in. BORING Now I listen to music or the XM Patriot channel in the morning. (Which Jim and Rose should be on.)

We’re suffering from Quinn and Rose withdrawal. There is nothing on the radio in this time slot that approaches the talent level, the appeal, the style, the amount of information that was available on this show. Hope they find a new home soon.
This is so unbelievable & disgusting. Quinn is one of the best when it comes to radio talk shows! I totally believe this was a move to silence both he & Rose because they are true conservatives who actually try to look out for the people who are being used for a liberal agenda that only harms them. This is such a shame. I miss the show already.
This is crazy!!! I have listened to them for 10 years, every morning. I did not even listen to this new guy once this week. and i am not going to!

WHY do we think that this is only a business decision. Maybe the only decision is that WPGB gets to keep its license. I smell Obama’s FCC. Friday’s show has the answer. And what do you know, the Feds yanked the archives as well through some maneuvering with Clear Channel. The Management over WPGB has no nards or fortitude to do what is right and fight in court for the right to keep their bread and butter syndicated show. The first amendment is being shredded before your eyes.
Who can we contact to best protest losing the best morning radio program?
This was an idiot move. I guess WPGB will have to do without a lot of listeners because we will not listen now that we know that they aren’t on vacation. They are the best and Clear Channel has shot themselves in the foot. If you want some good advise…Fire the idiots who made this move and hire Quinn and Rose back!
I think that Jim’s theories are all “coming home to roost”. the Fairness Doctrine, and “Liberalism always . . . ” etc. etc.

Will never listen to WBGB again. Have listened to Quinn and Rose since they started. Huge Mistake Clear Channel; but this is probably not about money.
I have been listening to Quinn every morning since 1997! I don’t know where I will get my news now! When I heard I was sincerely heartbroken!!! I can’t believe they are replaced with “Bloomdaddy” I heard 5 minutes of this fool and nearly puked!!! I miss you badly Quinn and Rose!!! please go to a radio station that I can listen to you from Pittsburgh I can’t stand the liberal media and I need to know what’s going on!!! Q &R prepare for their broadcasts like nobody else on radio. Jim helped me come to grips with the tragic events that are currently destroying our Country. I was willing to deal with their cancellation from XM by downloading their podcasts, but now what? The wolf is no longer at the door, it’s in the house!
I listened to multiple shows on 104.7, but no more. I want to vomit when saying so, but unchanged my programmed radio channel to NPR. I’d rather suffer through biased liberal taint than support an enterprise that has made such a stupid business decision.
several friends and I took 104.7 off our radio presets…and we drive a lot which means lots of time listening to advertisements. lost listeners = lost customers. I’ll be learning about sports stats on The Fan I guess until I find out where Q&R are. will not be listening to clear channel unless they bring back the hosts with the mosts.

I enjoyed listening to them in the morning at work. I live in Texas, so i would only be able to listen to the last couple of hours. I enjoyed the truths the presented. They were the top of my list for talk shows. I hope someone else picks them up or the blaze picks them up.
Quinn & Rose were taken off of our local 640am in Ohio a while back but as a member I always listened after that on WPGB or downloaded from their archives. My guess is they were getting too close to the truth and the liberal media and their DemocRAT cronies had to shut them up. So much for Freedom of speech in America! Miss you dearly my friends. QUINN AND ROSE IS THE BEST RADIO TALK SHOW OUT THERE. I listened to them for many years in Pittsburgh on my morning drive. I moved to Dallas 12 years ago and have since been listening to them on my computer and IHeart radio. I will check the Warroom website daily to find out where Quinn and Rose go. I hope they find a home soon – THEY ARE AMAZING!!! I WILL NOT LISTEN TO THE PITIFUL REPLACEMENT – TUNING IN TO LISTEN TO QUINN AND ROSE ON MONDAY MORNING AND DISCOVERING THEY WERE NO LONGER THERE WAS A HUGE SHOCK AND DISAPPOINTMENT!!
What a bonehead move Clear Channel!! I could only take 10 minutes of the replacement then promptly deleted the pre-set 104.7 on iheart. I am sure Glen Meakem is the next target (brace yourself Glen). Done with CC and any of their sponsors! Cant wait to see where Q & R land, I am sure it will be in a much better place than a CC affiliate. Sirius Patriot sounds like a logical alternative.
With the departure of Quinn and Rose, Morning Radio just became boring and obtuse.

Why, why, WHY!? WPGB became known nationwide because of Quinn & Rose. If I was the station manager of WPGB I’d be doing all I could to hold on to these two. Being the radio home to Quinn and Rose is like having that same claim on Rush Limbaugh. Quinn & Rose was responsible for bringing in many sponsors and much prestige to the station. Even if I disagreed with them, they are still worth million$$$$ to anybody who has them under contract. Not just a bad political decision: It was a very bad business decision to get rid of Q&R, as WPGB is about to learn the hard way.
I am lost in the mornings now that Quinn and Rose are not on the air in the mornings. Bloom Daddy is not bad but Quinn and Rose kept me informed and up to date about our miss manged government. Please keep trying to get them back. I hope it is simple and not any conspiracy as to why they left. Thank you for hearing me out.

Does anyone know approximately how much $$$ it would cost us to buy a radio station? I’m talking about a station we would all own and where Q&R, Rush, Beck, Hannity, Mark Levin, Bill Marr, Cunningham, Madcow, and other CONSERVATIVE talk show hosts could broadcast the TRUTH every day?
At least 15 million conservative listeners at $100 each = 1.5 BILLION – I believe we can do this!!!

You guys are total morons. I will say the same thing I said when 640 dropped quin and rose “I will no longer listen to your radio station unless you reinstate them with a pay raise. A big pay raise” The station manager should be immediately fired, drawn and quartered with his parts hung from the nearest lamp post, as an example of why you don’t fire the best radio people in the biz. At the very least he should be fired, the second part probably won’t happen, but he definitely deserves it.
Clear channel has shown who they are. Don’t waste your mony there.

I’ve stopped listening to WPGB in the morning. As soon as Quinn and Rose find another station, that’s the station I will listen to.

Very disappointing when I turned the radio on an heard some Bozo and then find this out. While there may have been contract issues I have another reason for this. DVE has run this market for years now. Every time a good radio station started up they bought them and closed them down. The Force is now the “X” (almost hip hop anymore) and there was another station back in the late 80’s early 90’s but their name escapes me now. Cleveland has WMMS and Cincy has WEBN both smoke DVE with the type of music they play. I believe Quinn and Rose were crushing DVE in ratings and that was not going to fly. I do understand both are clear channel but DVE had someone’s ear. Loved listening to Q&R in the morning then crank up the tunes after being so mad at what has happened to this country. Good luck Q&R hope you are back soon.

Hearing Bloomdaddy in the morning, I was thinking that Quinn and Rose were on vacation..saying to myself I can’t wait till Quinn and Rose are back, because the BloomDaddy really sucks. Then I find out Quinn and Rose were dropped. I guess I won’t be listening to WPGB on my morning drive.

I’ve been listening to Q&R for so many years and I can’t believe they’re no longer my wake up voice every morning. Q&R were amazing with the amount of research they did for their show every day, and their writings brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for the support you give our Military, and for the conservative lessons. Q&R were the best thing on the radio; Rush is too full of himself, Beck I like, but he gets too silly, and Hannity talks over his guests and repeats himself too much. Guess I won’t be listening to 104.7 any longer. It’s a shame that the best gets pulled. I’ll be watching to see where Q&R end up Best of luck to both of you and please don’t keep us waiting too long! Have listened to Quinn & Rose for many years. Very upset over their cancellation. Emailed 104.7 my dismay and still awaiting a response. I can listen to their other programming such as Hannity on other stations.
I miss Quinn & Rose one my drive into work=can’t wait until you come back on air.
