Its one of the biggest U.S. Senate races in 2024, and polls suggest the Democratic candidate, who gained national attention for her impassioned presentation at the Democratic National Convention, is ahead of her Republican challenger.

Will that stay through Election Day? An October 8 debate between a Member and ex-Member of the U.S. House of Representatives could sway undecided voters, and Nexstar Media Group is hosting the debate at one of its Mitten State TV stations.

The hour-long debate, scheduled from 7pm-8pm on the second Tuesday of October, will see Democrat Elissa Slotkin face off against former House Member Mike Rogers.

WOOD-8 in Grand Rapids will host the debate, which will be simulcast not only on NewsNation for a national audience but on Nexstar-owned WLNS-6 in Lansing and the following partner stations:

WOOD VP/GM Julie Brinks commented, “With our sister station in Lansing and broadcast partners across the state, we’re committed to keeping voters throughout Michigan informed and ahead of the curve when it comes to electing our leaders.”
