Hearst Media Production Group (HMPG) is welcoming a Senior Producer for its weekly television show “Matter of Fact with Soledad O’Brien.” She reports to Rita Aleman, the show’s executive producer.
Gail Austin joins HMPG from NPR, where she served for six years — most recently as deputy executive producer of flagship show “Morning Edition,” and NPR’s popular podcast, “Up First.”
It marks a return for Austin to Hearst, where she served for six years, most recently as a producer at Hearst Television’s Washington, D.C., News Bureau, before joining NPR.
Austin began her broadcast journalism career at Hearst’s WGAL-8 in Lancaster-Harrisburg-York.
HMPG and Sony Pictures Television, the show’s distributor, recently announced “Matter of Fact with Soledad O’Brien” has been renewed for two more seasons in syndication, where it reaches 95% of U.S. TV households.
HMPG’s current program portfolio comprises more than 30 series and hundreds of hours of content annually on leading broadcast networks and station groups and on connected TV and streaming platforms. It has a library of more than 4,000 hours of programming and its content can be found in 97 countries.
