Kansas Association of Broadcasters President Allison Mazzei has shared the details as to who the latest inductees will be into the Kansas Broadcasting Hall of Fame. Additionally, four other broadcasters will be honored at a ceremony during the KAB’s upcoming convention, scheduled for October 20-21 in Wichita.

This year’s inductees into the KAB Hall of Fame are:

  • Ben Bauman
  • Greg Sharpe
  • Paul Heskett
  • Kyle Bauer

Bauman in 1985 joined WIBW AM & FM in Topeka and its newly launched Kansas Information Network. In 2006, Ben transitioned to television, serving as evening anchor for KTKA-TV, KTMJ-TV, and at KSNT-TV.

Sharpe has been the Voice of the Huskers since 2008. A two-time Kansas Sportscaster of the Year winner, he served as the Voice of the Wildcats for his alma mater, Kansas State, from 1996-2002. Sharpe is also known for his 22 years as a WIBW-TV in Topeka sports anchor.

Heskett has spent his 40-year career in Kansas, beginning at KAYS in Hays, KFNF in Oberlin, and KIOL in Iola, Kansas, before finding his home at KXXX-AM in Colby nearly four decades ago.

Bauer since 1994 has been a co-owner of Taylor Communications, parent of KCLY-FM in Clay Center and KFRM-AM in Salina. Earlier this year, he purchased 10 stations from the former Rocking M in Colby, Goodland, Liberal, and Dodge City. He serves as the General Manager of KFRM, its National Sales Representative, and is also the co-host of the show “Plain Talk.”
