A small Classic Country AM station just outside of Nashville could be in for a very groovy future, as Linda Carden‘s Heritage Broadcast Associates is selling the Class D signal to one of the names responsible for the area’s “Hippie Radio.”

WAKM, broadcasting on 950 kHz in Franklin, Tenn., serves 22 Middle Tennessee counties with 5,000-watts. Known for local high school football, University of Tennessee sports, and Tennessee Titans football, the signal is selling for $275,000 to D & H Media LLC, co-owned by Leann Didier and Loy Hardcastle.

A $10,000 escrow payment is being held in an interest-bearing account by the seller’s counsel, John C. Trent, with $100,000 due at closing. The buyers are represented by Nancy Ory of Lerman Senter.

No brokers were listed in the transaction.

Didier and her husband Tony started Kensington Digital Media in 2012 with the purchase of Hippie Radio 94.5 (WHPY), which has grown to eight stations in Middle Tennessee and Warsaw, Indiana.
