In September 2025, RBR+TVBR first reported on a transaction that saw Relevant Radio acquire WLAT-AM 910 and W269DE at 101.7 MHz in New Britain, Conn. That left the seller with a remaining AM and its companion FM translator in Manchester, Conn.
Those properties are now being sold by Gois Broadcasting of Connecticut.
Gois acquired WLAT-AM along with WNEZ-AM in Manchester, Conn., in November 2007 from receiver Larry Patrick as part of the bankruptcy of Freedom Communications of Connecticut, paying $2.65 million for the stations.
WLAT and W269DE were sold for $400,000. Now, WNEZ and W287CS in Manchester, serving the Hartford market, are being spun to Island Mango Radio LLC.
With Allan G. Moskowitz serving as legal counsel, the buyer — led by Mabel and Philip Duncan — will use the facilities to further grow their Caribbean-themed programming.
A $110,000 sale price has been agreed to, with $50,000 placed into escrow. Additionally, a refundable deposit of an additional $50,000 has been made to Gois. The remaining $10,000 will be paid at closing.
