FCC’s Carr To Address Agency Enforcement Reform

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The senior Republican Commissioner on the FCC will be participating in an upcoming discussion alongside former agency General Counsels, hosted by a major communication law firm, that’s primed to focus on opportunities to reform enforcement practices.

Brendan Carr will be offering opening remarks at a Wiley Law reception scheduled for May 2 at its M Street offices.

As Carr sees it, making alterations to FCC enforcement can be taken to curtail legitimate wrongdoers while protecting communications and media companies’ due process rights.

The other speakers on the agenda for the afternoon event and rooftop reception include Tom Johnson, a former FCC General Counsel (2017-2021) who is now a Wiley Partner; former GC Christopher J. Wright (1997-2001), today a Partner at HWG; and Suzanne Tetreault, who is a partner at Wilkinson Barker Knauer LLP and will moderate the discussion.

The event is complimentary but advance registration is required.
