FCC Gives Blessing To A Ham Radio Purchase

The FCC on Thursday granted the license transfer applications for a group of radio properties serving Madisonville, Ky., putting the closing of the $815,000 transaction on the fast track.


 

Ham Broadcasting Company and DJE LLC, led by Beth Mann, is now on its way to becoming the owner of Class C2 WKTG-FM 93.9, offering “Power Rock” to listeners in Owensboro and much of nearby Evansville, Ind.; Class D Classic Country WFMW-AM 730 and FM translator W299CN at 107.7 MHz; and FM translators W235AC at 94.9 MHz and W290CR at 105.9 MHz.

Selling the properties to Ham is Robert and Nancy Kelley’s Sound Broadcasters Inc. 

An agreement was finalized on June 11, with a $40,750 escrow depositheld by Sciarrino & Shubert. At closing, a $30,000 will be paid directly to the Kelleys in cash, while the remainder will be sent via wire transfer.

Mann’s legal counsel is Anthony Lepore.
