After 33 years at the two stations in Augusta, Ga., owned by Gray TelevisionMike Oates — who has served as General Manager for the last seven years — is retiring.

We now know who will be succeeding him at the CBS and NBC affiliates.

Earning the role of GM for WRDW-TV and WAGT-TV in Augusta is Greg Connor.

Connor was previously GM for WACH-57 in Columbia, S.C., a FOX affiliate owned by Sinclair Inc.

He began his career as a sales executive at WLOS-TV in Asheville, N.C., rising to Local Sales Manager. He then became Director of Sales for KSNV-3 in Las Vegas before heading back to the Southeast for GM roles at stations in Greensboro-Winston-Salem; Columbia, S.C.; and in Albany and Macon, Ga.

“I love having the opportunity to work with great teammates and clients, while being actively involved in the community,” Connor said. “I am excited to be a part of the strong culture of Gray Media’s Augusta Team and support them in their continued success.”
