Media General schedules vote on Young acquisition
A merger between television groups Media General and Young Broadcasting was announced at the end of July, and now MG is preparing to present the deal to its shareholders for their approval. A vote is scheduled for next month.
Palm Springs TV pair sold
Journal Broadcast Corporation is pruning its television portfolio, and the beneficiary will be OTA Broadcasting, which will be buying a pair of stations in the Palm Springs CA DMA. Kalil represented the seller and Media Venture Partners represented the buyer.
DOJ asks for more info on Sinclair/Allbritton
The Department of Justice has been reviewing Sinclair’s proposed acquisition of the Allbritton television group, and according to Sinclair, it has asked for more information related to the deal.

Montana television group goes to Cowles
Multimedia Cowles Media just sold television stations in California to News-Press & Gazette, but proved it has no intention of getting out of the business by buying several more in Montana. According to brokerage firm Kalil & Co., the seller is Max Media.
