Gray Television has gone a little "Retro" by getting into Florida's capital city with a purchase of a UHF station and its associated translator station. All it took was a little Budd deal. That's the top deal in RBR+TVBR's TRANSACTIONS TODAY for July 11, which also sees Channel 2 in Los Angeles sell for $200,000 — really.

Power Valley Communications and Eagle Radio Network have agreed on the sale of a station deep in the heart of Dixie.

LocusPoint WMGM and Univision Local Media have agreed on the sale of WMGM-TV, a full-power television station licensed to Wildwood, New Jersey, for $6,000,000.

Townsquare Media, Inc. has announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire six radio stations and two FM translators, in and around the Pittsfield, MA market, from Gamma Broadcasting LLC and Berkshire Broadcasting Co., Inc. Pro forma for the acquisition, Townsquare will own 318 radio stations in 67 markets. The company expects to close in the third quarter of this year.

Norsan Communications and Management, Inc. (“Buyer”) and Thomas B. Daniels and Limited, Inc. (“Seller”) of North Charleston, SC, have closed on the sale of Radio Stations WAZS-AM Summerville, SC, WZJY-AM Mount Pleasant, SC, FM Translator Stations W239AL and W280EX North Charleston, SC, and Television Stations WAZS-LD North Charleston, SC, and WJNI-LD North Charleston, SC.

The sale of Minnesota radio stations WWAX-FM, Hermantown, and KQDS-AM, Duluth, has closed. The Seller was Red Rock Radio Corporation, a Minnesota-based company headed by Kathy Lau and Shawn Skramstad.

The bigger of the sales was for an FM translator currently licensed to Big Pine, Etc., California. The seller is Dale A. Ganske and the buyer is Farmworker Radio Network, Inc. Sale price was $125,000.

The home for North Central Kansas news and information is about to change hands, thanks to a deal that puts an AM/FM combo and an FM translator in the hands of White Communications. The price has been revealed for American General Media's previously announced spin of a CHR/Pop station serving the Albuquerque market. The buyer is BB Broadcasting, and it plans no format changes at the station known for "hit music now."

On June 14 RBR+TVBR reported on the sale of Univision Radio's four stations in New Mexico's biggest market, Albuquerque. We now know what it's collecting for its divestment some 15 years after grabbing the stations from Simmons Media. Meanwhile, Houston Christian Broadcasters is celebrating 55 years "of keeping him close by." Now, as the religious nonprofit tells it, "The Lord opened a door for KHCB to expand its ministry with the purchase of three stations." A little more than five years ago, Fisher Broadcasting forged an agreement that gave it the option to purchase a Class C radio station serving the Seattle-Tacoma market. This was tied to an LMA that allowed Fisher to use the FM as a simulcast partner for one of its Seattle stations. Today, Sinclair Broadcast Group owns Fisher's former Seattle stations, and holds the purchase option. It's now decided to exercise that option.

Some 160 miles from the Miami-Fort Lauderdale metropolitan area sits Sugarloaf Key, one of the final isles on the long drive on Overseas Highway to Key West -- capital of the tongue-in-cheek "Conch Republic." It is here that a silent FM that bears the famous calls of a once No. 1-station broadcasting from the World Building in Washington, D.C. resides. This station is now trading hands, in the lone deal featured in RBR+TVBR's TRANSACTIONS TODAY for June 22.

There’s a swap that’s been consummated in Northern California. This results in the disappearance of one religious noncomm network, the emergence of a different non-secular noncomm, and the return to commercial status for an FM with a long history of format flips.

Smack dab in the middle of California's San Joaquin Valley is the town of Wasco. It is here that a silent low power FM station licensed for 62 watts exists. This LPFM's board is evolving, prompting a Form 315 filing with the Commission. It is the lone transaction submitted to the FCC for approval in RBR + TVBR's TRANSACTIONS TODAY for Tuesday, June 20.

In what some may label a "fire sale" at troubled streaming audio company Pandora Media, the Oakland, Calif.-based company getting a $480 million investment from Sirius XM has just agreed to sell its only radio station for half of what Pandora paid for it exactly four years ago. Tucson-based Kalil & Co. represented Pandora in this transaction, which sees a South Dakota FM end up in the hands of a local broadcast company.
