On July 5 TRANSACTIONS TODAY reported on the sale of a Class C3 18kw facility marketed to Matagorda County, Tex., by a company that has carved a niche in the Lone Star State as a specialist in radio, web, streaming, social media and events marketing. Now, this company is selling a second Class C3 FM in this same part of Texas.

As a week divided by the Independence Day holiday concluded with no new transactions filed with the FCC, the Media Bureau on Friday revealed that it accepted applications to assign call signs to, or change the call signs of, several stations during the month of June. Here's a quick review of the Bureau's call sign actions.

There's a brand new Class A FM coming to a small town to the northwest of Abilene, Tex. It's just been dealt to a new owner for a bargain price, and this in-the-womb facility is under the neonatal watch of TRANSACTIONS TODAY for June 26, 2018.

For the third consecutive business day, there's a TV transaction that involves the swiftly growing HC2 Station Group. That's the entity led by Philip Falcone that owns the Azteca América broadcast TV network and a whole bunch of television stations. It's just added a Detroit property.

In a pair of transactions that saw Greg Guy of Patrick Communications serve as the broker, HC2 Holdings Inc. has completed its acquisition of a LPTV serving one of America's biggest DMAs. At the same time, a leading religious broadcaster has closed on the purchase of two big-market LPTVs.

At 90.9 MHz in Fort Collins, Colo.,, is a 150-watt FM translator providing the city a mix of classic hits as "K-Rocky." It has simulcast programming originating at a Wyoming facility with a CP for a Class A signal serving a largely rural area to the east of Casper. Now, the translator is being sold to the Rocky Mountain State's largest NPR-affiliated group.

On Tuesday TRANSACTIONS TODAY reported on the sale of a southern Georgia "Peach," a Class C3 facility offering "Super Hits of the '60s and '70s." The buyer, it seems, wasn't done with making its purchases. This time, it is heading to Missouri to consummate a deal.
