Birach Broadcasting’s Sports Talk KXLQ-AM The Jock in Des Moines announced it will carry Kansas City Royals baseball games this season. Radio host Marty Tirrell made the announcement. The station, based in Indianola, IA, carried the Yankees last season.

Bruce Beckner on Cable One-Viacom impasse
On its website, Cable One says it was forced to remove 15 Viacom-owned channels 3/31 after the two companies could not reach a new programming agreement. The MSO, which has 730,000 subscribers in 19 states, says Viacom is asking for a rate increase of more than 100% over the previous fee. Viacom denies that, saying it's only asking for what other TV providers have paid. The impasse continues. RBR-TVBR asked Bruce Beckner, Owner at Garvey Schubert Barer for his thoughts:

Avis Budget Group announced that the satcaster is now available as a premium add-on across a majority of its Avis and Budget car rental fleets. More than 60% of its rentals now have factory-installed satellite radio receivers. The in-dash access to SiriusXM replaces the portable plug and play satellite radio previously offered to Avis and Budget renters.
HD multicast audience up 300%
iBiquity Digital announced over 4.7 million people listened to an HD2, HD3 or HD4 channel in an average week, according to the latest Fall 2013 Nielsen Audio Nationwide audience estimates.
