“Even as a kid, Don knew he wanted to be a part of the radio industry,” his freshly written biography on the Binnie Media website reads. Now, this 30 year-plus radio industry veteran has taken a position at the privately held media company that puts him in charge of its “Midcoast Maine” stations.

For Don Bedell, he’ll assume management of WBYA-FM “The Wolf” in Islesboro, Me., and WBQX-FM “Frank FM” in Thomaston, Me.

Bedell formerly served as Director of Business Support for Penn State University’s NPR Member WPSU-FM and PBS Member WPSU-TV in State College, Pa.; at the radio station, he co-produced a weekly local music radio show called “The Local Groove.”

Ironically, Bedell is a 1990 Ohio University graduate who spent one year in Los Angeles working for various video production companies before returning to the Buckeye State for jobs at radio stations in Nelsonville and Alliance. Later, he would work at Forever Media radio stations in Altoona and in State College. He’s also been Market Manager for the State College stations owned by 7 Mountains Media.
