Beasley Names Three RVPs, Creating New Corporate Roles

Until now, publicly traded Beasley Media Group, which will report its second quarter 2024 earnings on August 12, has not had the role of Regional Vice President across its broadcast radio properties.

That has just changed, with the promotion of three individuals in the Northeast, the Southeast and in Southwest Florida, respectively.

Effective today, the RVPs will be responsible for overseeing multiple markets on a regional basis across the country. Beasley Cluster and Market Managers will report directly to their respective Regional Vice President, responsible for overseeing their market.

Who are the new Regional Vice Presidents?

Ron deCastro

Ron deCastro will be responsible for overseeing the Fort Myers and Tampa stations owned by Beasley, which is headquartered in Naples, Fla.

DeCastro joined Beasley/Tampa in October 2022 after serving as Chief Revenue Officer for MediaCo, licensee and operator of WBLS-FM and WQHT “Hot 97” in New York for some 2 1/2 years prior to his arrival at Beasley. He also served as Market President for Townsquare Media’s top revenue market: Trenton, N.J. DeCastro held that role from January 2016 through April 2020.

Meanwhile, Beasley/Fort Myers Market Manager AJ Lurie will now oversee sales for Southwest Florida and for the Tampa Bay region.

Secondly, Mac Edwards will now oversee the Charlotte and Fayetteville, N.C., markets for Beasley. Edwards transferred to Charlotte as VP/Market Manager in October 2022 after 7 1/2 years running the company’s Detroit stations following their acquisition from Greater Media. That said, Edwards is highly knowledgeable about Fayetteville, as he was VP/Market Manager of Beasley’s stations there from 2007 through his 2016 move to the Motor City.

Beasley says Kent Dunn will continue to lead the Augusta, Ga., market.

Lastly, respected Boston VP/Market Manager Mary Menna will lead not only Beasley’s stations in New England’s top market, but also oversee the high-performing Philadelphia and Central New Jersey markets.

Menna rose to VP/GM of Beasley/Boston in May 2014, putting her today in a position that includes leadership of Sports Talk WBZ-FM 98.5 in Boston, one of the biggest stations in its format across the U.S.

Before that, Menna served as General Manager of WMJX “Magic 106.7” in Boston. She began her career at an iHeartMedia predecessor in 1986 in the sales department, rising through the ranks to become Director of Sales for Clear Channel’s Boston and Providence properties in January 2009.

Kevin Rich, who currently serves as Beasley Media Group’s Vice President of Operations, will now also be responsible for overseeing the company’s Las Vegas and Detroit-based operations. Rich will not take a RVP title, given his corporate level role he already holds, a company spokesperson tells RBR+TVBR.

Menna, Edwards and deCastro will report directly to corporate Chief Operating Officer Brian Beasley.

“These changes reflect the company’s continuous commitment to streamline our sales efforts and drive revenue in an efficient manner across multiple platforms throughout the Company,” said Beasley Media Group Chief Executive Officer Caroline Beasley.

Meanwhile, the company shared that its President, Bruce Beasley, will be appointed Vice Chair of its Board of Directors at its next scheduled meeting.
