His experience in Radio includes running his own diagnostic company, Airplay GPS, and from January 2016 through March 2021 enjoyed a tenure at Cumulus Media and its Westwood One operation as a Programming Analytics and Strategy VP. Today, he’s taking his talents one step higher at Audacy Inc.
Ralph Cipolla has been promoted to VP/Programming Analytics and Research, rising from a Director role he took just months after exiting Cumulus in a reduction-in-force inititive.
Cipolla’s promotion was shared with Audacy employees via an internal memo from Chief Programming Officer Jeff Sottolano. He called Cipolla “instrumental in elevating our capabilities and ensuring the science component of the delicate marriage of art + science is well represented in all of our content decisions.”
Sottlolano added that Cipolla has been “instrumental in elevating our company wide performance insights as we have successfully grown our overall brand performance.”

Cipolla’s resume includes a 10-year role as a strategic consultant and analyst for Jacobs Media and, before that, a nearly 11-year run as Operations Manager for WCSX-FM in Detroit under former owner Greater Media.
He began his career in early 1987, recruited during his final year of studies at Buffalo State University, to join RCS as a consultant for its music-scheduling software.
