As of today, a free app available across key video-on-demand platforms offering news, weather and station-created programming from FOX Television Stations properties in Detroit, Atlanta and Washington, D.C., is now up and running for users.

And, other markets are on the way.

“FOX Local is the crucial next step in our overall streaming strategy, which is focused on providing viewers the easiest and fastest ways to watch their most trusted local news and programming,” said Jeff Zellmer, Senior Vice President of Digital Operations for Fox Television Stations.

The FOX Local streaming app can be found on Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and Android TV devices, expanding into additional platforms soon.

While WTTG-5, WAGA-5 and WJBK-2 are the first stations to be found on the app, local experiences for each of Fox Television Stations’ 17 markets will be seen “in the coming months.”

Upon logging into the FOX Local app, users choose their market. The app also provides access to national live streaming coverage from “LiveNOW from FOX,” FOX Soul and FOX Weather.

Patrick Paolini, Fox Television Stations’ Washington, D.C. SVP/General Manager, commented, “FOX is demonstrating its commitment to finding new ways to keep our loyal viewers up to date on all the news and local programs they trust.”
