In October 2025, top radio station owner iHeartMedia supercharged its stations in Northeastern Ohio by signing a partnership with the local National Basketball Association franchise. Now, the company and the Cleveland Cavaliers are expanding on that agreement with a fresh accord that keeps the pro basketball team on iHeartMedia’s heritage News/Talk and Rock ‘n’ Roll radio stations.
The new deal, however, names “iHeartMedia Cleveland” the team’s “official, exclusive radio home,” even as broadcasts remain on WTAM-AM 1100, which enjoys an FM translator at 106.9 MHz in Cleveland, and WMMS-FM 100.7.
The bigger news: the agreement extension places all 82 regular-season games, pre-season games and potential playoff games on some 19 iHeartMedia-owned properties, via an arrangement with Rock Entertainment Sports Network.
As a result, iHeartMedia stations in Akron, Canton, Ashland, Chillicothe, Columbus, Dayton, Defiance, Lima, Mansfield, Marion, Toledo and Youngstown, Ohio will air Cavs games, as will iHeart-owned properties in Erie, Pa., and Parkersburg, W. Va.
“We’re delivering the most accessible broadcast we’ve had in years,” said Chris Kaiser, EVP and Chief Marketing Officer of the Cleveland Cavaliers. “An enhanced product matches that accessibility, and we are grateful for our partners, iHeartMedia, for helping make this possible.”
Interestingly, iHeartMedia is bringing Cavaliers coverage to a station in Toledo, where many NBA fans root for the Detroit Pistons.
“The Cavaliers have one of the most passionate fan bases in sports, and we’re excited to bring every game to fans across Ohio,” said Keith Kennedy, Area Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia. “From Cleveland to communities across the state, iHeart will be there all season long to deliver the action and keep fans connected to the Cavs.”
Play-by-play announcer Tim Alcorn returns for his eighth season and will be joined by Cavaliers reporter Serena Winters for “select, exclusive national broadcast games.”
Studio host Mike Snyder returns for his 35th year, anchoring all pre-game, half-time and post-game shows.
Brad Sellers, entering his 17th season as studio analyst, joins Snyder on the post-game show.
