In January 2023, the parent of longtime regional news and information service RNN filed a petition with the FCC seeking to upgrade its Boston DMA facility with a shift from a VHF channel to a UHF channel. Upon learning that such a move could not be done in a timely manner, RNN wrote to the Commission stating it has changed its mind.
The OK from the FCC to stay on the VHF channel has just been given to the licensee.
