It is being hailed as a “landmark partnership,” and it comes as the sport continues to gain momentum beyond high school and collegiate sporting venues ahead of the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Thanks to a newly announced agreement, iHeartMedia is now the official audio media partner of USA LaCrosse, supporting promotional campaigns for the organization’s events and membership initiatives across its broadcast radio stations, iHeartRadio-exclusive digital audio channels, and podcasts.
The partnership also establishes a first-of-its-kind audio media category for USA Lacrosse and includes exclusive content opportunities surrounding some of the sport’s premier events and properties.
Furthermore, iHeartMedia will have the opportunity to produce live and on-demand audio content, including programming tied to lacrosse’s return to the Olympic stage at LA28.
“At iHeart, we’re focused on connecting audiences with the sports, athletes and moments they care about most,” said Michael Biondo, President of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships at iHeartMedia. “As lacrosse continues its rapid growth and prepares for its return to the Olympic stage, we’re excited to partner with USA Lacrosse to help expand the sport’s reach, engage new fans and create unique opportunities for athletes, players and communities across the country.”
In addition, iHeartMedia will serve as a presenting sponsor of several marquee USA Lacrosse events, including The Atlas Cup, the Brogden Cup and the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. The audio content creation and distribution giant will also become the first brand to receive jersey branding rights for the U.S. Youth National Teams, whose 144 athletes represent some of the nation’s top boys’ and girls’ players.
“This is the type of partnership our team at USA Lacrosse has been building toward,” said Will Blake, Vice President of Corporate Partnerships for USA Lacrosse. “iHeartMedia isn’t merely securing logo placement, they’re stepping into a category that’s never existed in our sport before, at a scale and a valuation that reflects our commercial growth and where this sport is headed. For the first time ever, a brand is putting its mark on the jerseys of our U.S. Youth National Teams. That’s not a sponsorship, it’s an investment in the next generation of players and fans who will carry this game forward and help us grow the sport for years to come.”
