A media workflow specialist founded 30 years ago has moved forward with the acquisition of an integrated playout, captioning, subtitling and broadcast workflow solutions provider led by CEO David Bowes.
With IBC 2026’s first day complete, Amsterdam-based Planetcast is ready to merge the assets of BroadStream Solutions with its own.
As the company envisions it, BroadStream will anchor Planetcast’s newly established Products Division, adding software capabilities across integrated playout, time-delay and accessibility workflows.
“The acquisition brings these capabilities together with Planetcast’s global media services and distribution infrastructure, enabling content owners and broadcasters to build and operate linear, streaming and hybrid media workflows more efficiently,” the companies announced on Friday.
Planetcast CEO Sanjay Bhatt commented, “BroadStream is a natural fit for Planetcast as we expand our product capabilities alongside our global services business. This acquisition brings together BroadStream’s proven broadcast products with Planetcast’s services and global infrastructure to support customers across more of the content lifecycle. The combination creates new opportunities to connect these capabilities across content preparation, playout, localization, streaming and distribution, while giving customers the flexibility to build solutions around their specific operations and growth plans.”
Bowes will lead Planetcast’s Products Division once the transaction closes; terms were not disclosed.

BroadStream brings its OASYS Integrated Playout platform and portfolio spanning playout, time delay, captioning, subtitling and accessibility workflows to the Planetcast mix.
