The station may be absent from DirecTV for upward of six years, with his ABC affiliate serving Indianapolis joining the facility and a MyNetwork TV sibling in a bitter retransmission consent impasse, but that’s not going to be an obstacle for DuJuan McCoy in bringing fans of Butler University Men’s Basketball to WISH-8.
The Indianapolis home for The CW Network has reached an agreement with the school based in the Circle City to air the team’s matchup against Indiana University on Sunday, October 11, at 6:30pm Eastern.
It marks the first visit for IU’s Hoosiers at Hinkle Fieldhouse since 1993.
Then, on October 18 at 6:30pm Eastern, Butler will host Indiana State for a game to be televised on WISH-8.
Both games will also stream live on WISHTV.com, with no blackout restrictions, and on affiliated stations in the Louisville, Chicago, Nashville and Fort Wayne DMAs.
McCoy said, “College basketball is woven into the fabric of our local communities, and these games are exactly the kind of hometown sports moments we’re committed to delivering—on-air and online—for fans across Indiana.”
