It’s no secret that financial pressures have led Beasley Media Group to consider all of its options when it comes to its fiscal future.
On Monday, the company announced that it will raise cash through the sale of a longtime Top 40 station in Charlotte and its Las Vegas Alternative FM sibling.
The buyer? It’s the noncommercial broadcast ministry tied to the K-LOVE and Air1 Christian Contemporary Music brands.
Educational Media Foundation is acquiring WNKS-FM 95.1 in the Charlotte DMA, while also obtaining KXTE-FM 107.5 in the Las Vegas market.
Details regarding the transaction are forthcoming; Kalil & Co. served as the exclusive broker in the transaction, representing Beasley. An October 2026 closing is anticipated.
In a press release issued Monday morning, Pacific Time, Beasley confirmed that WNKS morning offering “Maney and LauRen” will relocate to co-owned WKQC “K104.7” in Charlotte. Meanwhile, the programming heard on KXTE “will transition to KVGS,” a move that will see the KXTE music and brand live on in Southern Nevada. KVGS recently returned to its 107.9 MHz frequency after trading it with KCYE-FM 102.7 for several years and is a Hot Adult Contemporary station at present.

KXTE has been a part of the Beasley stable since October 2022, when Audacy Inc. swapped the property in exchange of KDWN-AM and K268CS at 101.5 MHz — “K-DAWN” — which last week made headlines as it becomes the lone source of conservative talk programming with the shutdown of KXNT-AM 840 due to the loss of its transmitter site.
WNKS became a Beasley property thanks to a multi-property, multi-market asset swap with the former CBS Radio in fall 2014.
