WASHINGTON, D.C. — The FCC’s Office of Economics and Analytics (OEA) and the Media Bureau have shared the procedures and minimum opening bid amounts to be used for “Auction 114,” an auction of FM broadcast construction permits scheduled for February 2, 2027.

Auction 114 will be conducted using a simultaneous multiple-round auction format, and its format comes after the Commission in May released a public notice seeking comment on competitive bidding procedures and minimum opening bid amounts to be used.

Auction 114 will offer 132 construction permits in the FM broadcast service. The construction permits to be auctioned are for 132 new FM allotments, including 33 construction permits that were offered but not sold in prior auctions.

The list of FM allotments available can be found here. Among the more intriguing listings is a Class C3 FM at 93.7 MHz in Wickenburg, Ariz., due northwest of Phoenix.

Notably, requests by Matthew Wesolowski’s SSR Communications to add allotments in the inventory for this action were declined, with the FCC noting it is not in the public interest.

Auction specifics and other information is contained in a 61-page release from the NAB.
