A reorganization of the programming operations associated with Connoisseur Media‘s West Coast properties has taken place, following the shift of “Bay Country” to the facility presently known as KUFX-FM in San Jose.

“The reorganization strengthens the company’s Bay Area and Portland operations while continuing its focus on strong local programming,” the company says.

  • Brian “Fig” Figula has been named Regional Operations Manager for the Bay Area, overseeing Connoisseur Media’s stations in San Jose, San Francisco and the East Bay communities surrounding Oakland. Figula will continue serving as Operations Manager for the San Francisco station group as he assumes day-to-day programming responsibilities for “Bay Country” and Hot Adult Contemporary KEZR-FM “MIX 106.5” in San Jose. He will also continue programming Adult Contemporary KOIT-FM in San Francisco while relinquishing duties for San Francisco stations KOIT, KBLX and KUFX.
  • Taking KBLX programming duties in addition to KBFF “Live 95.5” in Portland, Ore. is Jim “Jazzy” Archer. He will continue serving as PD of KMVQ “99.7 NOW” in San Francisco.
  • In Portland, Ross MacLeod adds Country KUPL “98.7 The Bull” to his programming responsibilities while continuing to oversee Adult Alternative/Classic Hits hybrid KINK-FM and Active Rocker KUFO (using the 102.9 MHz FM translator). MacLeod remains Operations Manager for Connoisseur Media’s Portland cluster.

“The changes we made today in San Francisco, San Jose, and Portland better position us for continued success,” said Keith Dakin, SVP of Programming for Connoisseur Media. “I have tremendous confidence in Fig, Jazzy, and Ross. They are talented programmers who understand their markets, know how to put the right people in the right positions, and have a proven ability to work with talent to create programming that is relevant, engaging, and locally connected. I’m excited to see what they’ll accomplish as they continue to strengthen our brands in highly competitive markets.”

Figula added, “These changes allow us to align our programming leadership with the continued growth of our West Coast brands. We’re fortunate to have an incredibly talented team, and this structure gives each market experienced local leadership while creating new opportunities for collaboration across the region.”
