Since Brendan Carr was appointed FCC Chairman and President Trump returned to the White House, the Commission’s “responsibility” of ensuring that broadcasters only obtain and maintain a license to the extent they are operating in a manner that serves the “public interest, convenience, and necessity” as taken center stage.
For Democrats and FCC Commissioner Anna Gómez, that effort is nothing more than censorship and a First Amendment violation, as probes against ABC over “The View” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and both CBS and NBC for supposed “news distortion” have become politically divisive efforts.
Nevertheless, the FCC on Thursday made it clear that it wants broadcasters “to review and modify their operations to ensure compliance.”
