On December 11, 2019, a lifelong banker, radio station owner and “true cowboy at heart” died at the age of 77, ending a 50-year fight with Type I Diabetes. Two months later, his wife was appointed and qualified by a South Dakota judicial court as the personal representative for the deceased station licensee’s personal estate. As such, she would be assuming full ownership of the stations.
Paperwork has just now been filed for regulatory approval of the transfer, and it could raise questions about what appears at first glance to be extreme tardiness on the part of the Haugo family.
