Ex-FalconX, Pinterest CRO Takes Similar Role at Madhive

NEW YORK — Digital television advertising firm Madhive has a new Chief Revenue Officer.

He’s coming from FalconX, where he served as their CRO. Before that, he was the CRO at Pinterest.

In this new position, Jon Kaplan will be responsible for “accelerating the adoption of Madhive’s full-stack TV enterprise software, empowering TV buyers to capitalize on the streaming era with a programmatic solution.”

Kaplan’s hire comes after the recent arrival of ex-Roku and Hulu exec Kristin Wnuk as Sr. VP of Sales; Wnuk, a widely regarded industry figure, will report to Kaplan.

For Madhive, Kaplan’s integration into an operation founded in 2016 initially as a streaming monetization enterprise solution for such broadcast TV companies as The E.W. Scripps Co. and TEGNA brings it a wealth of tech know-how. Kaplan was the VP of U.S. Enterprise Sales during the early days at Google, where he led a team of hundreds and drove billions in revenue while building categories like Search, YouTube, DoubleClick, and Mobile.

Now, Madhive is looking to Kaplan to accelerate its position as “the industry standard for local and national streaming advertising,” while further expanding its advertising infrastructure’s adoption into national brands, direct-to-consumer brands, and retail media networks looking to scale their streaming TV offerings.

“I see a lot of similarities between Madhive and my time at Google,” Kaplan said. “In the early days of programmatic advertising, the industry consisted of various point solutions, and we had to teach our clients the benefits of DoubleClick’s full-stack. This is what’s happening right now in the emerging streaming sector, and it’s one of the reasons for the disconnect between time spent by users and ad spend. Madhive has been modernizing legacy systems and building full-stack advertising solutions since streaming’s inception, and I’m looking forward to seeing this through to scale.”

Madhive founder/CEO Adam Helfgott believes Kaplan is joining Madhive “at a key inflection point in the TV advertising industry, driven by a massive shift in how we consume content and how advertisers adapt to the streaming age. We purpose-built the Madhive platform in anticipation of this growth — investing in engineering, technology, and infrastructure to provide advertisers with an end-to-end solution to succeed in the streaming world. Jon’s experience in leading and scaling go-to-market teams will further accelerate client and Madhive growth.”
