A NoCal AM Fine Is Upheld By the FCC. What’s Next?

In mid-October, the licensee of a Class B radio station at 1080 kHz with a mix of local and syndicated conservative talk programming serving the Monterey-Salinas-Santa Cruz market received a Notice of Apparent Liability in the amount of $20,000 for what the Commission believed were the station’s operations “at a variance from its authorized parameters.”


The FCC has now upheld that forfeiture. What does this mean for Zwerling Broadcasting System, which will need to pay up for issues that date back more than a quarter century?
